THE SOMEWHAT damp conditions of this year's Ropley 10k Road Race did little to affect the impressive times recorded by participants.
Sunday’s event attracted 453 runners, with the rainclouds putting off 75 non-starters.
Organiser Dave Ottley was pleased with the standard of the day. “We had some very respectable times come in considering the conditions,” he said.
“We always get a tremendous amount of help from the village people. We go right through the village and all the residents had to move their cars to allow us to get through.
“The feedback from all runners was that they enjoyed the event.
“We are hopeful that we will be involved in the Hampshire 10k Championship next year.”
A full list of results will appear in next week’s Post.
