Two street markets combined for a day

Two street markets are being combined in Alton for the first time.
The craft fair in the Market Square will take place on the same day as the regular Hampshire Farmers' Market on Saturday, March 10.

The move is part of a bold experiment to boost the footfall at both markets and will involve the Farmers' Market moving to the High Street, where there will be room for it to expand.

Hampshire Farmers' Markets manager Sarah Read said: "The popularity of our market in Alton was beginning to wane and we felt we needed to do something new.
