Baby goats are welcomed at East Hampshire farm

By Post in Farming

BUTSER Ancient Farm has welcomed the arrival of twin baby goats.

Born on the morning of Monday, May 15, they were discovered by staff member Tiffany Francis.

The twins are the sons of the farm’s English goat Sorrel, who came third place in her category at the Singleton Rare and Traditional Breeds show last summer.

English goats are a traditional breed in Britain and there are only 1,800 individuals in the country.

The boys have not yet been named but staff at the farm are favouring Butser tradition and will likely take a botanical name like their other goats Sorrel, Yarrow and Comfrey.

People across the district are being invited to visit the site and meet the new arrivals. It is open seven days a week.
