SCHOOLCHILDREN in Greatham have discovered their musical talents by learning new instruments and performing in a concert.
Year three and four children at Greatham Primary School in Petersfield Road, have been learning to play instruments as part of the 'Listen To Me' scheme by Hampshire Music Service.

They performed in a concert on Monday, December 7, for parents and pupils to showcase their talent.

The year three children learnt to play brass with the help of musician Dave Smith, while the year four children were taught the ukulele by musician Bridget Hughes.

Sixty pupils joined the scheme.

The children will get the chance to learn different instruments each term, including strings, wind and percussion.

Year four teacher Miss Baker said: "We're hoping to have a few more takers for the brass.

"The children definitely enjoyed it.

"We are hoping they will discover a particular interest.'

Miss Baker and year three teacher, Miss Trussler, played along with the children.

This is the first time the school has took part in the scheme, which offers the children free music lessons for a year.
