A new theatre group for children, Strictly Showtime, launches in Alton in September.
It will hold classes and rehearsals starting in the autumn term and will perform Oliver! in Alton in March 2010.

Classes will be held in Alton on Thursdays at 5pm for two hours.

Children aged between seven and 11 can join and will be taught th
e necessary singing, dancing and acting skills to perform Oliver!

Other events are to be held in December for the children to perform seasonal music and the year will be rounded off by an end-of-term show in the summer at which the children will perform sketches and musical numbers to demonstrate the skills they have acquired over the year.

Classes will be run on a week -to-week basis by Strictly Showtime's founders Ian and Jenny Abbott.

Music and Education graduates and professional musicians Ian and Jenny will be assisted by a team of visiting dance and acting specialists.

Anyone wanting information, including about how to join, can look at the Strictly Showtime website or phone or email as below.

Classes may also be run for children aged four to six, for which parents can register their interest on the website.

Unlike most other part time stage schools the emphasis at Strictly Showtime is very much on making music and the classes are focused on the end-of-term performances with at least one large-scale musical each year.

There is a half-price discount for the first two terms.

See www.strictlyshowtime.co.uk or call 01420 88480 or 07875 764788.
