The competition programme for members of Petersfield Photographic Society got off to a good start when more than 500 slides were screened for Peter Symes to judge.
With nine marks being awarded to Carolyn Ross for ‘Ano Boulari, Greece,’ the first picture shown, there were hopes for some good results.

Carolyn also received 9.5 for ‘Episkopi, Greece’ and nine for ‘Thalames.’ Nearly all competitors gained one s

There were two top 10s in the standard section, to Pam Chinn for ‘Kirk Stone Pass’ plus an 8.5 for ‘Tenby’ and to Mike Moore for ‘Illusion’ who also received 9.5 for ‘Steel Tentacle.’

Peter Scott was awarded nine for ‘New Zealand’ and 8.5 for ‘Catch That Flag.’ Den Hayes gained 8.5 for ‘Mum and Me,’ as did Kim Collins for ‘Docked.’

The set subject was for Tree or Trees for which there were 13 entries. There were tree top 10s: ‘Goodwood Trees’ by Colin Thornhill, ‘Frosty Morning By The River Wey’ by Ian Baker and ‘Lonely Palm’ by Peter Scott.

Nine-and-a-half marks each went to Francis Ouvry for ‘Twig-Light’ and to Pauline Thornhill for ‘Three Trees,’ while Gill Burgess received nine, Dave Goodall and John Wigley 8.5 each and Pam Chinn eight.

The advanced section began with a top 10 to Bunty Gerard for ‘Laid Back Lion.’ She also gained 8.5 and eight.

Another 10 went to Francis Ouvry for ‘Red Posts (2)’ with 9.5 for ‘Marques of Distinction’ and nine for ‘Brass Cap’ and to Colin Thornhill for ‘American Bittern’ with a nine for ‘Squacco Heron’ and an eight.
