BRAMSHOTT WI: Two visitors, Betty Buckingham and Sue Wood, were welcomed to the April meeting of Bramshott WI and president Yvonne Leadbeater also introduced guest speaker Dr Diana Samways.
'I'm a patient get me out of here' is the title of a book she had written and was reflected in the sentiment of the talk.

Dr Samways qualified in medicine from the Royal Free Hospital taking up general practice at Rowlands Castle and then Haslemer
e where she now runs a holistic practice.

Specialising in conditions including IBS, Candida and various allergies, Dr Samways looks beyond conventional medicine for the connections between allergies and addictions and for a solution in the field of alternative health.

The use of diet and natural remedies was explained to members and Dr Samways was pleased to answer the many questions before Judy Stoker thanked her for such an informative presentation.

Group chairperson and Bramshott WI member, Adrienne Cox, gave details of a canal boat trip in August. Members have an option of afternoon or evening departure and choice of refreshments.

The next group meeting is in October when the speaker will be Eliza McClelland - 'To Bead or not to Bead' and poems with a similar theme are invited for the competition.

The 'Lady Denman Cup' will be awarded to the best 'Ghost Story' submitted from County WIs.

Liz Budd attended the Hampshire Federation's Spring Council Meeting in Portsmouth and told members how much she had enjoyed the day.

Sylvia Futcher agreed to organise the newly formed lunch club and would report to members at the May meeting.

At the May meeting two resolutions would be discussed. The first resolution urges the government to ban seabed trawling and the second urges the government to act on the inappropriate imprisonment of the severely mentally ill.

The results would be voted on at the National AGM in Liverpool in June.
