ROWLANDS CASTLE WI: The talk at this month's meeting of Rowlands Castle WI was entitled 'Protecting your families' assets.
The group were treated to an evening of laughter and audience participation.

The excellent speaker John Donaldson, an independent chartered financial planner, kept members on their toes by asking questions and steering them in the right direction with their answers.

He made topics such as nil rate band, discounted gift trusts, protecting family assets from social services and potential suitors both amusing and informative.

There are many interesting and varied activities booked for the summer, including a walk with pub lunch and bird watching on May 12 and the annual tennis morning on May 20.

Next month's meeting is on May 12 and marks the WI's 62nd birthday.

The group will be voting on resolutions to be taken forward to the National Federation of WIs AGM.

One member, Suzanne Maile, will be sharing her experiences of life in a Japanese internee prison camp entitled 'three years behind the wire.'
