An evening of English choral music with some added American seasoning is coming to St Mary and St Gabriel Church in South Harting.
On Saturday July 4, choristers who have sung at Westminster Abbey and at Oxbridge colleges will be singing a varied programme of English choral music from the 16th to the 20th century.

The choir will also perform some barber shop numbers from the USA.

The concert is to raise money for the Macmillan Fund and Harting Church Law Appeal.

Reverend Roger Williamson, rector of Stedham with Iping, and his two sons, were inspired to organise the concert in memory of his wife, Margo, who died from cancer in 1999.

Both sons will play key roles on the night. Simon, director of music at Wellington College in Berkshire will direct the choir, while Edward, director of music at Ditcham Park School, will sing tenor and provide some of the arrangements.

The concert starts at 7.30pm and a collection will be taken during the concert.
