Chefs prepare to show off their skills in public

Five catering firms and restaurants are booked to give live cookery demonstrations at the upcoming Petersfield Food Festival.
The event, which takes place on June 6-7, will include cooking demonstrations from a stage based in The Square.

At this year's event, Petersfield eatery Annie Jones is scheduled to demonstrate some of its fine menu at the festival.

The restaura
nt, which is located in Lavant Street, serves up a menu of dishes such as lasagne of Dover sole with scallop mousse. Head chef Steve Ranson will be cooking up some of his recipes on the day.

School dinners are up for inspection when catering company H3CS – the firm which provide Hampshire schools with its dinners – take to the stage.

Winchester hotel and restaurant Lainston House employs the two-time Hampshire chef of the year Andy Mackenzie in its kitchen, and he will be at the festival showing off his skills.

Popular Petersfield Italian restaurant La Piazetta is moving its kitchen a short distance across The Square to cook up some of its food for the public to watch.

And catering firm Hendersons, which is based at Petersfield railway station, is also scheduled to run a demonstration over the weekend.

The cooking demonstrations take place on June 7 between 10am and 4pm.
