The Viking Park development in Whitehill for Bobby's Foods exemplifies all that is wrong with development in Bordon in 2009.
Today we are all supposed to be more aware of our precious natural environment, we are all supposed to have a better knowledge of where development should and should not go, including both central and local Government.

Clearly this is not the case with the Conservative-led East Hampshire District Council and their Labour colleagues in Government.

This is a former MoD site that has been sold off but actually is a recreated heathland site and is part of the Hogmoor Inclosure Site of Interest to Nature Conservation (SINC).

Lowland heathland is a scarce habitat in Europe and England has a special responsibility to retain this habitat wherever it occurs.

Unfortunately Natural England, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and the RSPB failed to object strongly and make sufficient fuss against the original proposal for the destruction of this heathland.
