Sponsored car wash for centre

MEMBERS of a new club in Liphook will be splashing out to raise money for a good cause this Saturday (February 9).

They will be taking part in a sponsored car wash outside Liphook Social Club in Headley Road - and proceeds from the event will go towards providing an Easter treat for people at Liphook Day Centre.

All car owners will be welcome between 9.30am-12.30pm.

The event has been organised by members who are aiming to set up a new Rotary Club for Liphook and the surrounding area.

Sean Jeffrey, the initiator of the proposed club, said: “Although we are still in the process of becoming an official Rotary Club, the founding members were anxious to get started on fundraising for local good causes.

“The car wash will coincide with the monthly indoor market at the village hall next door, and the aim is to raise enough funds to sponsor the Easter meal at the day centre.”

Karen Hanney, of Liphook Day Centre, said: “This is greatly appreciated by everyone at the centre.”
