Liss Band will be returning to Liphook Millennium Centre this Saturday, March 8, to play a concert in aid of the Liphook division of St John Ambulance.
The annual concert in Liphook is always keenly anticipated – and this year the band will be under the baton of their new conductor, Michael Charles.

He was appointed last summer, and has promised a wide ranging concert from show tunes to some clas
sical favourites.

The programme will feature several of the band’s soloists, and will include items which are to be included on the band’ s forthcoming CD.

In the audience will be the vice Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Nigel Atkinson, who is also chairman of the council of St John Ambulance in Hampshire.

The colours of the Liphook division will be paraded into the hall at the start of the concert by a colour party.

Dr John Tough, superintendent of the Liphook division, said: “We are a very active community organisation which provides first aid cover for events in a wide area around Liphook.

“They range from pantomimes to orchestral concerts and motorcycle enduros to horse events.

“The division has 31 members who volunteered for a total of 3,926 hours during 2007, and attended 124 events.”

Tickets for the concert are £6, available on the door or in advance from the Millennium Centre or from Bramshott and Liphook Parish Council’s office at the Haskell Centre, Midhurst Road.
