AFTER 18 years of wear Liss' famous brass band is on the way to brand new uniforms.
Liss Band has been providing music and entertainment in the district since 1974 but will soon be smartening up its act with the help of a grant from East Hampshire District Council.
Its players, who range in ages from 15 to 75, fear their uniforms will be seen as threadbare and tatty if they are not quickly replaced.
Members of the band have been wearing the same uniforms for 18 years and hope to raise enough money to buy smart new togs in time for their 30th anniversary concert in June this year.
