Liss Royal British Legion women's section will hold its biggest fundraising event of the year on Saturday, December 5.
Money raised at the Christmas sale at the RBL Club in Rake Road from 10am–12.30pm will be donated to a fund which helps widows, children and former service personnel.

At the November meeting of the section, four members were congratulated for recently receiving medals – Mrs Dancy, Mrs Collison and Miss Newbould for their service in the Women's Land Army during the Second World War, and Mrs Turner, who served in the WAAF and was attached to the wartime codebreaking centre at Bletchley Park.

The guest speaker was Katrina McNamara-Goodger, who received the Elizabeth Kubler-Ross award for her work with children suffering from life-limiting illnesses.

She has recently returned from the Crimea, and spoke about her experiences of meeting children at an orphanage there.
