Liss Band will make a return visit to Petersfield Festival Hall on June 30 – and the event will have special significance for their conductor.
It will be Mike Pennicotte-Henrie’s final concert as conductor after 14 years of wielding the baton. He is stepping down from the rostrum, but will continue to be a member of the band, playing in the trombone section. Band chairman Ashley Kemp said Mike was standing down because of work commitments.
“Most people don’t realise how much work behind the scenes is involved in being a conductor,” she added.
The concert will be the band’s first performance at the Festival Hall since they played their 30th anniversary concert there two years ago. Tickets are available on the door or in advance from Jade News and the Triangle centre in Liss.
