Liss Band has been preparing for a busy summer – by recording a second CD.
The disc was recorded last weekend in the chapel of Chichester University.

It features 12 tracks – and a bonus track of music by the young members of the band's training section.

Band secretary Ashley Kemp said: "We are planning to release it in October or November, in good time for Christmas.

"Our previous CD in 2001 sold very well, and we are hoping this one will do just as well."

Liss Band will be competing in an annual contest against three other bands this Saturday, at Woolmer Hill School, Haslemere.

It will be playing at Harting Festivities on Bank Holiday Monday, May 26, and at the village fair at the Newman Collard recreation ground, Liss, on Saturday, June 7.

The band is keen to hear from any young musicians who would like to join the training section, which practises on Wednesdays from 6pm-7.15pm at the Liss Evangelical Church Hall in Forest Road, Liss Forest.

More details are available on the band's website, www.lissband.co.uk
