ROMANS invaded Sheet Millennium Field to battle a young band of Gauls for villagers' entertainment.
The two factions competed against each other at Sheetabix, the annual summer social organised by the Sheet Village Association.

The year 50BC was recreated on the field, when England was occupied by the Romans 'except for the small village of Sheet where the indomitable Gauls still hold out.'

The Gauls were made up of villagers under 18 and the Romans from the adults.

They took part in a chariot race, Roman-style tag rugby, a treasure hunt and a relay race.

A banquet was held, complete with hog roast, and a bar was open to keep all the warriors refreshed.

Music for the occasion was provided by The Rizzlers, The Trash Dandies, Two Two, Heart on Salmon, Dreamweaver and Johnny and the Jam Jars.
