A CHARITY Christmas card shop in Petersfield has found a new home.
The Cards for Good Causes charity shop, which was without a home for this year, has been offered a short term lease at the old Traders Club premises in Heath Road, above Gascoigne and Pees estate agents.

Not-for-profit healthcare company Embriohea
lthcare Inter-national UK, which is run by Robert Montague-Woolger, has taken over the site with a view to opening a gym for children and elderly people in the new year.

Mr Montague-Woolger found he had space until Christmas to host the card shop after reading about their problem in the Petersfield Post.

Speaking about the arrangement he said: "Partly it is because it gives me a bit of time to breathe and to arrange all the plans that I am intending to do, and partly because I am a nice guy!

"But there is a lot of work to do, I have agreed to help out with the rendering and all the structural repairs while the girls from the card shop are going to do all the cleaning."

Cards for Good Causes regional organiser Judith O'Sullivan said it was a lovely large space for the shop to use, although it did not have disabled access.

She said: "It should not be too much of a problem, the stairs are fairly wide and they turn in the middle.

"We will bring cards down to people if they come in and need some help." She said it was a relief getting the premises sorted and she hoped it would be open for Friday, October 10.

She added: "We are just pleased that we have somewhere."

Mr Montague-Woolger hopes to set up a Petersfield gym to fight child obesity and keep senior citizens active.
