PATRONS from the The Great Oak pub in Petersfield took on staff from Waitrose in a five-a-side football match to raise money for charity last Sunday.
A thrilling game at the Taro Leisure Centre, Penns Place, saw Waitrose triumph over the The Great Oak, 10-9, following a nail-biting finale.

The game, which was played to earn cash for WaterAid, generated funds amounting to £350 which has subsequently been doubled by Whitbread, the company in charge of the pub, to achieve a total sum of £700.

WaterAid provide access to save drinking water and sanitation in some of the most impoverished parts of the world.

Jackie Groves, who works at the Taro Leisure centre, said: "It was really good, the game was tit for tat all the way.
"We're glad we've been able to make a difference."
