Petersfield residents are being invited to help decorate a Christmas remembrance tree to help injured ex-Servicemen.
Rowland’s Funeral Service has put up a large tree in its window in St Peter’s Road.

Anyone who would like to support the new charity Help for Heroes is being given a gold star decoration, on which they can write a Christmas message for a loved one, in return for a small donation.

It’s an idea close to the heart of funeral director Tony Thorne, a former soldier in the Royal Hampshire Regiment, whose brother has just returned from Afghanistan.

Tony’s son is in the Royal Artillery. He said: “The money we raise will go to Headley Court, the tri-Service rehabilitation centre in Surrey and will help service personnel injured.”
