A Petersfield man who had a lifelong passion for motorbikes was taken to his funeral by a gleaming Harley Davidson hearse.
Peter Stevens, who died aged 55 just a few weeks after being diagnosed with cancer, was mourned by a large gathering of family members and friends from Petersfield Social Club where he had been a keen darts player.
Some of his darts trophies adorn
ed his coffin as the cortege made its way from the club in Station Road to Chichester crematorium.
June Lilley, one of his three sisters, said the motorcycle hearse was a fitting tribute.
"He always did love his bikes, and he used to ride a Honda. The family decided that this is what he would have wanted."
Mr Stevens had worked for 18 years as a welder at the DCM Tews engineering company in Petersfield. He was diagnosed with throat cancer in February, and died at St Mary's Hospital, Portsmouth, on April 4 after contracting pneumonia. He grew up in Cheriton, but the family moved to Petersfield about 30 years ago.
Mrs Lilley said: "He had been a member of Petersfield Social Club for years, and darts was his great love. He had won lots of cups, so we decided we would put one of his trophies and a set of darts on his coffin."
Paul Cuttle, of Liss Funeral Directors, who arranged the funeral, said: "Motorcycle hearses are very popular now and the Harley Davidson certainly looked impressive."
