HERNE Junior School was buzzing with excitement last Friday at the annual summer fair.
Families of the pupils descended upon the school to take part in a host of fun activities, all designed to boost the school's coffers.
The event was organised by The Friends of Herne School.
Spokeswoman Lucy Lomax said: "'Would the sun be kind or not?' was the question on all our lips on Friday.
"It stayed away, unlike all the family and friends of Herne Junior School.
"With some new additions to the ever-popular coconut shy, such as 'Soak Your Favourite Teacher in the Stocks' and 'Wobble on the Wobbly Bikes', we all had a relaxing social evening raising money to buy more equipment for the playground."
She added: "New for this year was the office staff in their 'Human Fruit Machine', which everyone loved, and our new 'Scoot and Skate' disco."
Cycle Life, of Dragon Street, donated a bike as a first prize in the raffle.
