There were well over 600 entries at the Steep Flower Show held on Saturday in the grounds of Bedales School – despite the rather grey and overcast August weather.
The show's chairman, Susie Cave, again took the trophy for the best exhibit in the show, for her exhibit of floating flowers.
The Harrow Sparrow for the outstanding entry by a child under 16 went to Gordon Yardley for his beautifully turned wooden
bowl.
The Lewis Snelgar Bowl for the most points in the show was won by Kate Ford.
Prizes were presented by Diana Sime, who has a very long-standing connection with the Steep show.
Her aunt, Mrs Glover, regenerated the show after the Second World War and is still commemorated by the Mrs Glover Trophy.
Music by the Sunset Cafe Jazz Quartet, along with excellent teas on the Bedales lawn, rounded off a very enjoyable village event.
