TWELVE art students from Bedales have been accepted into some of the country's most prestigious art colleges this September.
In a record year for Bedales, when over 90 per cent of art students achieved either an A or a B grade in the subject, some of the best will continue their studies at institutions such as Central St Martin's College, the London College of Fashion and Brighton and Falmouth Colleges of Art.
Head of art George Hatton said the success was due to 25 per cent of the timetable being dedicated to life drawing, which helps pupils develop creativity quickly.
He said: "Students of art need to have confidence to express themselves in whatever way they choose. But in their early years, they have to be introduced to the basic language of art, which is why we focus on observational drawing."
The pupils' work has been on display at the school in Steep over the past week.
