A STUDENT at The Petersfield School has scored one of the highest marks in the country for a GCSE – one year early.
Valeria Steinberg was among the top 10 students according to Edexcel, the UK's largest awarding examining body.

Valeria sat the GCSE Russian exam this summer when she was in Year 10 and the results show that out of 1,922 candidates, she achieved one of the highest marks. Headteacher Nigel Poole said: "This is a tremendous achievement and I congratulate Valeria on her hard work and preparation."

Valeria is not the only member of her family to celebrate success this summer – older sister and ex-pupil Elly has gained a place at St Hugh's, Oxford, to read Neuroscience.
