Alton town mayor Cllr Ginny Boxall cut the ribbon to open McCarthy Stone’s new Queen Elizabeth Place retirement living development in Orchard Lane.

Those attending the ceremony celebrated with a glass of fizz and many took a tour of the 43-flat site for the over-60s.

Cllr Boxall said: “It was fantastic to see so many people at the opening event and to have the chance to meet the team, home owners and their families.

“It’s clear to see the new community is flourishing at Queen Elizabeth Place, with home owners enjoying a full and independent lifestyle.”
