Blaze destroys Liphook pub roof

The roof of a pub in Liphook has been destroyed by fire today (17 January).
Fire crews were alerted just after 10:30 this morning to reports of the pub roof well alight in London Road.
Fire crews used six sets of breathing apparatus, three jets, two high-pressure hose reels and an aerial ladder 
platform to bring the blaze under control.
No-one was injured during the incident.
The roof of the pub was completely destroyed and there was also extensive damage to the first floor. The ground 
floor and cellar were also damaged by smoke and water.
A combination of appliances from Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire were mobilised to the scene.
Hampshire crews attended from Bordon, Alton, Basingstoke and Rushmoor. Around 50 firefighters in total dealt 
with the incident.
