Churcher’s College offers financial help to enter sixth form
EAST Hampshire Year 11 students are being invited to look at a bursary scheme run by Churcher’s College in Petersfield.
The financial help is aimed at encouraging students who may not normally consider private education.
It is being promoted as the take up for Churcher’s sixth form from state schools grows.
Churcher’s newly appointed Head of Sixth Form, Ian Knowles, is keen to encourage youngsters and their parents to consider the Ramshill school.
He said: “Just come and get a feel for the place. You may be pleasantly surprised by what you see.”
And the Churcher’s sixth form department, with its pool room, TV room, kitchen, study and extensive social spaces, is the venue for an open evening on Thursday, October 18.
Heads of Department and other key staff will be on hand to provide advice about the different A and AS level subjects on offer.
Nicola Aspinall joined Churcher’s sixth form from The Petersfield School in 2011. She said: “The pace is really fast, both in and out of the classroom. There’s so much to do and everyone’s so friendly.”
Rugby enthusiast Jack Plumridge says he has thrived at Churcher’s since arriving from Bohunt in Liphook. He said: “Everyone here is so close. After coming from a large school I really like how everyone knows everyone and they’re all so down to earth and friendly. I settled in really quickly and I’ve made some good mates.”
