A television historian has found a home from Rome at an ancient attraction in the South Downs National Park.
Dan Snow found himself guzzling grapes and doing what the Romans did while filming at Butser Ancient Farm (BAF).
He spent time filming in its Roman villa and other houses at the site near Chalton for online history channel History Hit.
Mr Snow called the farm “brilliant” on his Twitter account while BAF director Maureen Page claimed the personality enjoyed his time at the attraction.
She said: “History Hit is an online channel and they’ve got an amazing amount of footage on there about different periods in history.
“He did spend some time in our Roman villa but there was filming in some of the other houses as well for different periods as they decided to do it all in one go.”
