Flytipping in Priors Dean

Flytipping in Priors Dean

RESIDENTS, walkers and horse riders using a track at Priors Dean are being asked to watch out for fly tippers.

The track from Church Lane to the Hawkley Road is hidden from view and is often used as an illegal tip.

A resident, who did not want to be named, said: “This is a nasty anti-social crime, and the rubbish, mainly building materials, is dumped at night.” A search of discarded rubbish uncovered a receipt from a DIY store in London, with a customer address in Hertfordshire.

East Hampshire District Council is responsible for clearing the waste and it is hoped the receipt will lead to the fly tipper being identified, with a view to prosecution.
