Last chance to comment on Devils Lane planning appeal

THE DEADLINE for comments on a planning appeal lodged by a gypsy family living on a site at Devils Lane, Liphook, runs out this Friday.

The family has challenged a decision by East Hampshire District Council not to grant planning permission for a change of use of the land, and the issue will now be decided by an inspector of the Government’s Planning Inspectorate.

He will assess the site before deciding whether it should continue to be used for the keeping of horses, the siting of two stable blocks and four caravans for occupation by members of one gypsy family.

The application also includes an area of hardstanding, a septic tank and utility room.

Five separate appeals have been lodged against decisions by the district council.

Comments which have already been sent to the district council have been forwarded to the Planning Inspectorate for consideration by the planning inspector who will conduct the appeal hearing.

Anyone who wants to make further comments, or to withdraw or modify earlier representations, should email teame1@pins.gsi.gov.uk, quoting appeal reference APP/M1710/A/12/2187056/NWF.

Appeal documents can be inspected by going to the planning portal at www.planningportal.gov.uk/pcs.

The inspector’s decision will be published on the planning portal, and can be viewed on line at www.easthants.gov.uk - go to the section headed “view and comment on planning applications.”
