New £100,000 green grants to help residents
WHITEHILL and Bordon residents will benefit from £100,000 worth of Government money which will help them save energy and money as part of the national Green Deal initiative.
The money will be used for at least four separate aspects towards the eco-town’s objectives. Part will go to establishing a dedicated room at the Eco-station offering information about how to save energy.
Another amount will pay to develop an online tool giving householders energy saving information directly from their own computers.
Green Deal household energy efficiency assessments to see where energy savings can be made in homes will be carried out in 100 Bordon homes.
These homes already have been identified using existing energy performances figures and the eco town team will be contacting householders shortly.
A further project funded by the grant will be one-to-one energy-saving advice offered to residents by energy-efficienc y experts who will be available at the eco-station on Saturdays February 9 and March 9, from 10am-1pm.
