PETERSFIELD

PETERSFIELD police station is to be put up for sale once plans for officers to work from the library in The Square are agreed.

The Petersfield School Young Farmers group - On Sunday 28 April, 11 TPS Young Farmers took part in the Hampshire County YFC
Stock Judging competition at Sparsholt College.

The stock is judged by the members against criteria for finished animals. The students
judged pigs, sheep, dairy and beef cows. All members were novice judges and therefore
didnt have to give reasons for their choices; they only had to put the 4 animals in the pen
in order of best to worst.

We competed against seven other Young Farmers Clubs from across the county.
Everyone looked very smart, dressed in white coats.

Dr Sarah Silvester said, The organisers ran out of certificates, but we know that
James Rae and Connie Radford were joint first place in the sheep judging - quite an
achievement as there were at least 40 other novice competitors. It was great fun and we
all hope to do it again next year.
