Three majestic oak trees at Bell Hill have been handed over to the 1927 (Petersfield) Squadron of the Air Training Corps for safe keeping.
The custodianship of the trees, close to the squadron’s hall, was accepted by Flight Lieutenant David Taylor RAFAC, the Officer Commanding.
The Petersfield town crier opened the ceremony, followed by the formal handing over of the certificate by the town mayor to Flt Lt Taylor. The trees are of great significance as they represent the Royal Oak, the symbol of England.
Flt Lt Taylor expressed his pride in the squadron’s achievement and its commitment to continue to care for the oak trees with the utmost dedication.
