UFOs could be spotlights

THERE may be a down to earth explanation for strange lights in the night sky suspected of being UFOs by Petersfield, Liphook and Bordon residents.

The two glowing orbs seen manoeuvring above clouds at about 10pm could have been sky spotlights being used at Old Thorns Hotel, near Liphook.

A hotel spokesman said over the weekend of December 8-9, when the alleged UFO sighting took place, special sky spotlights were being used for an event.

He also said were no plans to switch them on again.

At the time the lights attracted interest from leading experts such as former MoD UFO investigator Nick Pope.
