County 4N, at Steep - Oakley 82, Steep 83-2: If last week's victory came courtesy of the batsmen, then this week it was the bowlers' turn to take centre stage as Oakley were dispatched by a rampant Steep side.
Steep fielded first and at 15 overs, the score was a meagre 31 runs but no wickets had fallen. Turnball struck in his third over, having the dangerous Rutt caught by Mike Preston at short mid-off, and he shared the wickets that fell with Tom Callingham.
Of the next nine wickets to fall, five were pouched by Dean Knight making him the first Steep wicketkeeper to achieve this since Rollo Wicksteed in 1961. Callingham finished with five wickets and Turnball with four, leaving Oakley on 82 all out.
Dean Knight hit his second ball for six but soon perished going for another maximum.
Callingham was out with 10 runs needed but no more alarms saw the Harrowmen home with eight wickets and 25 overs to spare.
County Division 3, at Liphook
Liphook & Ripsley II 187
Fareham & Crofton II 189-3
On paper, this looked like a convincing win for Fareham, but victory only came with nine balls remaining. Fareham elected to field first and bowled accurately and economically to keep Liphook pinned down to 30 off the first 10 overs.
As Liphook started to get the runs on the boards so the wickets started to fall. Elliot Hawkins scored 47 off only 20 balls which took Liphook to 187 all out.
Fareham also started slowly but kept within reach of the target. Good bowling from Steve Barrett, Elliot Hawkins and Mike Barrett was let down by poor fielding.
Regional 3NE, at Liss
Liss II 264-6
Silchester 189
Liss IIs were put into bat and soon Lee was caught behind for 0 in Boshier's first over.
Hall made a quick 10 and Small enjoyed a 41 run partnership with Wyatt before he was caught off Boshier with the score on 112.
Blanks added 35 before being caught off Minifie and Wyatt was the next to fall on 55. Neat, with the help of a runner, managed 35 alongside Allcock and they recorded a 100 partnership.
Allcock hit 83no, including 12 fours and three sixes, and Liss finished on 264-6.
Silchester started well with McCormac (22) and Dixon pushing hard, until Baker had McCormac caught behind by Hughes.
Jordan was caught and bowled by Small when on 41 but Silchester only managed 189 all out.
Liss won by 75 runs, taking 24 points and securing second place in the division.
