HEADLEY'S roller coaster league season hit a big dip this week. The Yellow Team at home to Four Marks, one of a number of teams in contention for honours, could take only one of the five points in a 51-45 defeat.
Playing with much rearranged triples due to holiday commitments, only John Robinault's three gelled sufficiently to gain a winning point. David Weston's trio played together well but were only able to get within three shots of the opposition.

Pat
Hennessy, in as reserve skip, was unable to hold a strong Four Marks triple and went down by six shots. Headley will be hoping to re-ignite their league challenge away against Rogate A this week.

Scores (Headley first): R Webb, J Bettger, J Robinault, 15, B Steirn, E Steirn, M Leppard,12; V Robinault, G Burtenshaw, D Weston, 15, B Scowcroft, S Martin, M French, 18; A Platford, P Osland, P Hennessy 15, P Bullen, J Warner, B Collier 21.

For the Green Team, the evening was an even greater disaster. Playing at Haslemere, though two triples were only narrowly beaten, they could not avoid conceding a clean sweep.

Headley 44, Haslemere 53: J Stemp, J Weston, D Davey, 14, R Brackfield, P Brackfield, G Wright 15; F Burrows, D Moss, C Lapworth, 18, S Bicknell, A Parry, R Wright, 20; S Moss, R Clifford, P Berry, 12, G Ewing, J Wise, 18.

Headley entertain Alton B at Mill Lane this week.

Headley's week of misery was compounded on Saturday when they went down 54-50 against Rowledge. Despite winning one rink, and drawing on a second, the final overall shot total gave the match to their opponents.

Scores: J Hole, D Northcott, P Berry, 18, V Callaghan, J Walker, P Slingo, 16; P Tootill, J Weston, D Weston, 15, D Shormer, L Churn, R Green, 15; A Rawlinson, D Davey, P Osland, 17, J Gaynor, C Vincent, B Callaghan, 23.

l STEDHAM bowler Peter Bennett has been chosen for Sussex against London Irish at Horsham tomorrow.

In the Midhurst cup semi-final Stedham lost by four shots at Fishbourne and won by 19 at home.
