FOLLOWING the forced cancellation of the 2007 Ken Hall Trophy motocross due to the foot and mouth scare, the Langrish Motorcycle Racing Club have come back stronger and more determined than ever to produce one of the finest solo and sidecar international events ever seen in Europe.
Six hundred loads of fresh soil and hundreds of man hours later they have done just that. A completely re-vamped circuit, with better spectator viewing areas and facilities, has been put in place for a fantastic line-up of motocross competitors. The
action all happens this Sunday and bank holiday Monday.
Josh Coppins returns to his favourite haunt to try to increase his number of wins of the famous old trophy to four. Coppins will need to be at his brilliant best to fend off the challenges of fellow Grand Prix stars Jonathan Barragan,Billy Mackenzie, and James Noble, and local hero Jason Dougan.
The solo entry list is backed up by a top class sidecar entry. Riding his last ever race in England, five time world champion Kristers Sergis returns to take on the might of the ‘chairs’ from abroad, including Jan Hendrickx and new sensation Etienne Bax.
Before all this action on bank holiday Monday, the Twin Shocks both on two and three wheels will wet appetites on Sunday.
The 1979 world champion Graham Noyce will show us all how it used to be and then share some of his stories afterwards over a cold beer.
The Largest Twin Shock entry ever for the club will provide a fitting tribute to this fine circuit in one of the most beautiful parts of England.
Racing starts at 12 noon both days at Manor Farm, Langrish, three miles south of Petersfield on the A272.
