Andy Gloak's decision to bat first condemned Grayshott to a punishing afternoon in the field, and some of their bowling and fielding wilted in the heat.
After a good first hour, with three wickets down for only 40 runs, the visitors lost their way
, bowling too short far too frequently and allowing Gillard and Handley to make liberal use of an excessively short boundary.
Both men batted superbly in a partnership worth 133, taking their team to 229 in 47 overs.
Gillard paced his 81 nicely and was unfortunate to be caught at point by Wheble from a fierce cut shot off Mark Richards.
In reply, Grayshott knew they would have to see out the opening spell of Gloak, Grayswood's go-to bowler. But it was Harvey Nash who made the first breakthrough, claiming Andy Wheble in the first over.
Opening partner Danny Schwick soon followed, bowled by Gloak, and Matt Haywood was unable to make any headway before chasing a wide one from Gillard. Steve Riley was unfortunate in flaying a drive to deep cover.
The young pair of Robbie Judge (47) and Harry Hannam (57) showed superb composure in addition to their huge talent in batting the Shotts right back into the game. Their century partnership came in better than even time, and towards its conclusion, they were smashing two or three boundaries an over with ease.
Steve Caffrey and James Penfold were both out quickly but Brophy and Richards ensured the visitors took two points from this encounter.

Andy Wadey claimed the final wicket to send Tilford crashing to 98 all out, with Craig Edwards taking 5-36 and Simon Jones 3-20. Harting did not get off to the best start, losing both openers when the score had reached 17.
When Terry Wadey (5) was bowled Harting were struggling at 25-3 but Colin Pay (31) and Simon Kyte added 46 runs, before Trevor Pay and Simon Kyte found the boundary on numerous occasions and saw Harting through to victory by six wickets.
