East Meon is likely to be turned into a 'beerfest' on Saturday, (June 13), when the local cricket club holds a much-anticipated beer and music festival in the pavilion grounds.
An evening of music and beer is promised at the event, which is being held to raise more funds towards providing a new pavilion, as the existing one has been described as "falling to bits" by one loyal member.

Three bands will be there to entertain – The Unusual Suspects, Dream Weaver and The Chris Warren Escapade, the latter being formed from musicians in the village.

There will also be a six-a-side cricket tournament battled out "between fierce, local rivals", which will certainly provide a great evening's entertainment –if the weather holds.

Fine, local award-winning ales, along with wine, ciders and soft drinks will be available for those watching the cricketers battling it out, along with a hog roast, barbecue, burgers and sausages.

There is also free camping for those intending to stay the night.

The fun kicks off at 6pm on the cricket pavilion recreation ground and will go on 'till late.

Tickets cost £8.
