There were surprises galore for young visitors to a stately home near Petersfield on Saturday.
They came face to face with a scarecrow and met the Easter bunny in the garden at Hinton Ampner, the National Trust property at Bramdean.

On the children's Easter trail, they had to hunt for rabbits to find clues to a wordsearch. The answer was "scarecrow."

The actual scarecrow, created by Hinton Ampner volunteer Marie Ashman, was lurking in the walled garden at the end of the trail.

"It was a really nice family occasion, we had lots of children with their mums, dads, grandmas and granddads," said Lyn Sandford, property administrator at Hinton Ampner who acted as the Easter Bunny for the day.
