Charlie Corbett, well known as the chairman of the Alresford Show, has organised Le Tour De Foret, a charity cycle tour of the New Forest.
It takes place on Friday, May 8, in aid of the charity, Help for Heroes.

At the end of May, Charlie is taking part in the Help for Heroes Band of Brothers Battlefield Bike Ride, pedalling 350 miles from Cherbourg to Paris through the Second World War battlefields of 1944.

Charlie said: "I thought Le Tour de Foret would be an ideal way for everyone to experience a little of what the Battlefield Bike ride will be like, whilst enjoying a lovely day out in the Forest and raising money for a very worthwhile charity at the same time."

Rural property consultants, BCM, are the main sponsors and are sending seven of their own team to take part in the ride.

The route starts at The House in the Wood in Beaulieu and travels along some of the less "touristy" and more undiscovered roads in the New Forest.

Although the distance is 40 miles, riders are not expected to go any faster than eight to 10 miles an hour. Riders will re-group at the lunch stop after about 25 miles, after which it will be a shorter ride back to the House in the Wood for tea.
