A FIRE in a Petersfield flat saw Lavant Street closed for about 45 minutes while firefighters tackled it this morning.

Fire tenders from Petersfield, Bordon and Havant were called to the fire in a flat above the Bran Tub health food shop at about 8.15am this morning.

The street remained closed until around 9am. A fire service spokesman said no one had been injured in the fire, which was thought to have started in an oil-fired radiator, he added.
