HAMPSHIRE Police’s new chief constable wasted no time in setting out her agenda for the force on her first day in the new job.

In an open letter issued on Monday, Olivia Pinkney called on the public to join with her in making the force “a standard bearer for protecting the most vulnerable and reducing offending.”

She went on to highlight the need to “safeguard the vulnerable, not least those at risk of child sexual exploitation and domestic abuse.”

She committed to work to achieve “the highest standards of integrity and transparency” in order to build the “trust and confidence of all communities.”

She called on all communities to help keep Hampshire “one of the safest places to live in the country.”
