Hay bale fire in Langrish near Petersfield was arson, say police

HAMPSHIRE Police is appealing for witnesses and information after two large hay bales were set alight in a field in Langrish near Petersfield.

The incident happened at around 5pm on Wednesday, April 20 near to Manor Farm.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue service attended and extinguished the fire.

The incident is being treated as arson.

A police spokesman said: “We would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious or has any information that may help our investigation.

“Anyone with information should call us on 101 quoting 44220154999.

“Alternatively people can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously.”
