PETERSFIELD police are appealing for witnesses after two elderly woman were followed and abused in Petersfield town centre.

The pensioners, aged 72 and 74, were walking along St Peters Road toward The Square when the man started shouting at them for no apparent reason at about 9.30pm on Saturday, August 22.

A police spokesman said: “The man followed them round to Neros coffee shop and then onto Fatface clothes shop shouting abuse. He then walked off across The Square away from them.

“We are keen to identify this man and would ask that anyone who saw the incident contacts police on 101, quoting crime reference number 44150291986.”

Petersfield Police Constable Peter Gott is dealing with the case.
