AN INSIGHT into how Syria was before it became the war zone it is today will be given by travel writer Barnaby Rogerson in Petersfield.
He will present the unexpected face of the country to mark the re-publication of travel classic The Street Philosopher and the Holy Food: A Syrian Journey by Marius Kociejowsi. This is a testament to the last of the old Levant region.
His talk will be at One Tree Books on Thursday, April 28, at 6pm.
Barnaby has brought out guidebooks to Morocco, Tunisia and Istanbul among other countries published, and writes on north African and Islamic themes for a wide variety of publications.
