A PRETTY special concert is in store at Bedales which is bound to be a hot ticket.

Her voice has been hailed as “one of the most beautiful Britain has produced in a generation.”

Soprano Elizabeth Watts will be accompanied by accomplished pianist James Cheung for the concert on Tuesday, May 3, in Bedales’ Olivier Theatre, and it will form part of the school’s prestigious Wilfred Brown Recital Series.

Petersfield resident Wilfred Brown was a celebrated tenor who taught at Bedales, before his death in 1971 of a brain tumour, aged 49.

The programme for the recital, with tickets now on sale, includes Nuits d’ete by Berlioz and works by Debussy and De Falla.

There will be German, French and English song represented.

Elizabeth is a multi award-winning singer, performing with leading opera houses, including The Royal Opera, Covent Garden and Welsh National Opera.
