AS GRAYSHOTT Folk Club’s season nears an end it can be very proud of hosting the best in international touring talent as well as accomplished local musicians.

The 16th and final gig takes place on Friday, June 30, at 7.30pm, featuring delightful American folk trip Low Lily.

The band, which will perform at Grayshott Social Club in Hill Road, are on tour from Vermont in New England.

Low Lily explores the roots and branches of folk music from the United States, creating a brand of acoustic music that is traditional yet contemporary.

Liz Simmons is on vocals and guitar, Flynn Cohen on vocals, guitar and mandolin, and Lissa Schneckenburger on vocals and fiddle.

They are masterful players, composers and arrangers, with their influences coming from Bluegrass, Scotland and Ireland and New England.

Haslemere’s The Charcoal Burners will be providing support in an extended slot. Led by singer songwriter and guitarist David O’Brien, they put a modern interpretation on traditional songs and tunes, and play original material too.

After this show, there will be a summer break, with the club returning on Saturday, September 30, when the guests will be traditional Irish folk band Realta from Belfast.

Tickets are £14, and £7 for under-16s. To book call Des O’Bryne on 01428 607096.
